Egypt has emerged champions of the Team Relay Event at the ongoing Africa AirBadminton Championships 2025 after a commanding 60-46 victory over Nigeria in the final held at Laboma Beach Resort in Accra.
The Egyptian team displayed excellent coordination, speed, and technique to secure the gold medal, overcoming a determined Nigerian side in a high-energy contest that drew cheers from fans. Nigeria settled for silver, finishing second in the competition.
In the third-place match, Mauritius claimed the bronze medal after defeating Benin 60-52, pushing Benin into fourth place despite their strong performance throughout the tournament.
Host nation Ghana, despite a promising start on Day 1, was unable to reach the podium in the team relay event, missing out on a medal finish in front of their home crowd.
The Team Relay event has been one of the highlights of the championship, showcasing teamwork and strategy in the fast-paced outdoor format of AirBadminton.
The tournament continues with more action in the individual and doubles categories, as teams battle for continental glory and qualification spots for the World Cup in Dubai later this year.
