Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Didi Dramani, has shared his thoughts following his side’s 2-1 loss to Asante Kotoko in the 2025 GHALCA President’s Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, July 6.
Despite the defeat, Dramani remained positive about his team’s performance and progress. He acknowledged the competitive nature of the game and admitted that losing a key player, Osei Asibey, during a crucial moment tilted the contest in Kotoko’s favour.
It’s part of the industry. At a time we were controlling, we lost [Osei Asibey]. They took a chance, and so we have to acknowledge that. We are in a progressive process, Dramani said in his post-match interview.
The former Ghana U20 coach also praised his team’s structure and work ethic, while pointing out areas that still need improvement.
I’m very impressed with the composition and execution. There is a lot we have done, but there is a lot we have to put in. I believe we will get there with some adjustments. We love the fans so much. We want to see more of this, he added.
Hearts had taken an early lead through Hamza Issah but were undone by an own goal and a second from Kwame Opoku in the second half. A disallowed goal and a missed penalty late in the game compounded their frustrations.
The defeat means Hearts remain on six President’s Cup titles, while Kotoko have extended their tally to nine.
