Former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, has made an interesting revelation about West Ham star, Mohammed Kudus, claiming he is the new star on the block and also it is his era in the Black Stars.
Gyan made this claim on Asempa Fm’s Ultimate Sports Morning Show in an interview with Papa Maestro.
“Players have come and gone. Abedi Pele’s era came, Stephen Appiah’s era came, same with Michael Essien and Sule Muntari, Asamoah Gyan’s era came as well. I think it is Kudus era now in the Black Stars”, Gyan said.
He substantiated his claim by saying “he is the only Ghanaian player performing well right now in Europe and not in any league than the Premier League. He’s doing so well, he’s the only African doing so well in Europe so we have to support him”.
Kudus has impressed since joining West Ham United in the summer from Ajax Amsterdam. He attracted interests from big clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United, before heading to the London based club.
Mohammed Kudus is the player with the most dribbles completed in the premier league and third in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
Asamoah Gyan is one of Ghana’s greats when it comes to football, his legacies are unmatched. He is the highest scoring African in the history of the FIFA World Cup, and also Ghana’s all time top scorer with 51 goals.
He scored Ghana’s first ever goal at the FIFA World Cup in 2006 against Czech Republic in the second group game.
