Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan has praised the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for organizing the African Schools Championship, describing it as a valuable platform to discover the next generation of African football talent.
Speaking to journalists during the draw for the tournament, Gyan, who serves as an ambassador for this year’s edition, expressed his full support for the initiative and pledged his dedication to its success.
This is a great opportunity for the youth. National teams across the continent will benefit from the talents discovered here, Gyan said. Personally, I’m a strong supporter of grassroots football. As an ambassador, I’m committed to helping uncover and nurture future stars.
The 2025 African Schools Championship will kick off in Accra, Ghana, on April 23, with the final set to take place at the University of Ghana Stadium on April 26.
