The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken disciplinary action against Berekum Chelsea head coach Samuel Boadu and five of the club’s players following incidents that occurred during their FA Cup semi-final match against Asante Kotoko at the Tarkwa TNA Stadium.

According to official GFA statements, Coach Boadu and players Mizack Afriyie, Stephen Amankona, Zakaria Fuseini, and Seidu Mohammed have each been charged with breaching Article 12(1)(i) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019, and Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019.

It is alleged that following the conclusion of the match, both the coach and the players confronted the match officials in an aggressive, angry, and fierce manner. They reportedly used inappropriate gestures, which the GFA states amount to misconduct and bring the game into disrepute.

All six individuals have been given until Thursday, May 15, 2025, to respond to the charges leveled against them.
