The fourth edition of the All Star Festival lived up to expectations with a spectacular display of football, entertainment, and celebrity appearances at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
Thousands of fans filled the stands to witness what has become Ghana’s biggest off-season football and lifestyle event, and they were not disappointed. Organized by The BAC Group, this year’s festival brought together stars from football, media, and entertainment in an unforgettable celebration of unity and talent.
The day began with two exciting curtain-raiser matches.
In the first, University of Ghana (UG) and University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) played out a tense goalless draw.
The second curtain raiser saw the highly anticipated clash between GH Media and GH Entertainers, which also ended in a draw, showcasing some of Ghana’s top personalities like Sitso, Akabenezer, Fentuo Tahiru, John Dumelo, and Opoku Bilson in action.
But the main event, the match between the Southern Sector Stars and the Northern Sector Stars stole the show. The game featured household names such as Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, Lauren Jul Hansen, Benjamin Asare, and Ibrahim Sulemana.
It was a thrilling contest that saw the Southern Stars emerge victorious with a 2-1 win.
Majid Ashimeru opened the scoring, followed by a goal from Benjamin Tetteh. The Northern Stars pulled one back through Emmanuel Boateng, but the Southerners held on for the win.
The All Star Festival 2025 once again proved to be more than just a game, it was a celebration of Ghanaian excellence across sport and entertainment. With music, laughter, cultural showcases, and unforgettable moments on the pitch, the festival left fans with memories they’ll cherish.
