The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has confirmed that entry to the ongoing CAF African Schools Football Championship is entirely free.
Speaking in an interview with Peace FM, Twum emphasized that the decision aligns with CAF’s commitment to youth development and inclusivity.
It is free, we are not taking any money, he stated. We want the students and their classmates participating in the Championship to get the chance to watch the games. And also, the public will get the opportunity to watch the children play.
Twum explained that CAF maintains a strict policy of free access for youth-focused tournaments, ensuring that fans can support young talents without the barrier of ticket costs.
The 2025 edition of the African Schools Championship kicked off today in Accra, with Ghana’s boys team starting on a high note after a 2-0 victory over Uganda in the opening match.
The tournament is being held at the University of Ghana Stadium, where the grand final is scheduled for April 26. Fans are encouraged to turn up in their numbers and enjoy the action-packed youth football showcase at no cost.
