GPL Matchday 5: Vision FC Secures First Home Victory Against Holystars
Vision FC earned their first home win in the Ghana Premier League, edging fellow debutants Basake Holystars 1-0 at the Nii Adjei Okraku II Sports Complex in Tema New Town.
After two previous home draws, Vision FC came into the match determined to secure maximum points. They dominated possession early on, with quick passing and controlled interplay, keeping Basake Holystars on the back foot for much of the first half.
Holystars’ goalkeeper produced several important saves to keep the match level, though the visitors struggled to create any real attacking threat of their own. Vision FC finally broke the deadlock just before halftime.
Daniel Yemoh, the 22-year-old forward, weaved through defenders in the 43rd minute and calmly slotted home what would prove to be the winning goal.
In the second half, Vision FC’s defense held strong, restricting Holystars to a single shot on target. Despite a few moments of pressure, the home side saw out the game and claimed a much-needed three points.
With this victory, Vision FC moves up to 6th on the Premier League table, having collected 8 points from 5 matches (2 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss).
Basake Holystars, meanwhile, remain in 15th place with 4 points, hovering just above the relegation zone.
This win marks an important milestone for Vision FC, as they continue to find their footing in the top flight.
