Jordan Ayew Joins Black Stars Camp as Ghana Prepares for Crucial 2025 AFCON Qualifiers

The Black Stars of Ghana have received a major boost in their preparations for the final two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, as Jordan Ayew and several other players arrived in camp on Tuesday.

This latest arrival brings the total number of players in camp to 22, strengthening the squad for their pivotal matches against Angola and Niger.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Alidu Seidu were among those who joined the camp on Tuesday, after an initial training session on Monday that saw just eight players in attendance.

Mohammed Kudus and Gideon Mensah, two of the team’s high-profile players, took part in the first training session and are expected to play vital roles in Ghana’s quest for AFCON qualification.

The team held a second training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday evening, before their scheduled departure to Luanda on Wednesday.

Ghana will face Angola on Friday, November 15, in what is widely regarded as a must-win game. They will then return home to wrap up their qualifying campaign with a match against Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, November 18.

Ghana currently sits third in Group F with just two points from four games, a precarious position that leaves their qualification hopes dependent on other results.

To secure a spot in the 2025 AFCON, the Black Stars must win both of their remaining matches and hope that Sudan, who lead the group with seven points, lose both of their games.
