Late Drama as PSG Stun Spurs to Clinch UEFA Super Cup

Paris Saint-Germain produced a remarkable late comeback to snatch the 2025 UEFA Super Cup from Tottenham Hotspur’s grasp, winning 4-3 on penalties after a dramatic 2-2 draw in normal time.

Spurs looked to have one hand on the trophy after Micky van de Ven opened the scoring in the first half before Cristian Romero doubled their lead shortly after the restart.

The Premier League side held firm for much of the game, frustrating the European champions with disciplined defending.

But the tide turned in the final five minutes. Lee Kang-in halved the deficit with a composed finish, and Gonçalo Ramos struck the equaliser in added time to force the shootout.

The shootout began badly for PSG as Vitinha fired wide, handing Tottenham a 2-0 advantage from the spot.

Yet Spurs faltered at the finish line—Van de Ven saw his effort saved, and Mathys Tel blazed over—allowing the Parisians to convert their remaining kicks and seal the win.

It was a night of high drama and a reminder of PSG’s ability to turn games on their head when it matters most.
