Mbappe Scores Again as Real Madrid Hold Off Late Deportivo Alaves Comeback

Kylian Mbappe continued his fine start to life at Real Madrid, scoring in his fifth consecutive match as Los Blancos edged out Deportivo Alaves 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.

The French star’s form in front of goal has been a major boost for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, and his latest contribution came as Madrid fought off a late scare to secure all three points.

Real Madrid wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Lucas Vazquez opening the scoring just 57 seconds into the match.

The early goal set the tone, and it wasn’t long before Mbappe added to the lead. In the 23rd minute, he combined brilliantly with Jude Bellingham to finish with precision, only for the goal to be disallowed for offside.

However, the Frenchman made no mistake shortly after, finding the net with a clinical finish in the 30th minute, once again assisted by Bellingham.

Rodrygo extended Real Madrid’s lead just after the restart, making it 3-0 and seemingly putting the game out of reach.

Yet, Deportivo Alaves refused to go down without a fight, and a late flurry of goals from Carlos Benavidez in the 85th minute and Kike Garcia just a minute later made for a nervy finish. Despite the scare, Madrid managed to hold on and secure their victory.

Mbappe’s goal brings his tally to seven goals in nine appearances for Real Madrid this season, including six in his last seven outings.

The 25-year-old, who signed a five-year contract with the La Liga giants in July following the expiration of his Paris Saint-Germain deal, has been instrumental in Madrid’s fine form early in the season.
