Samartex forward, Emmanuel Mamah optimistic ahead of Raja Casablanca clash

FC Samartex centre forward, Emmanuel Mamah says they are optimistic ahead of the clash with Raja Casablanca.

The Timber Giants will be hosted at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in the return leg of the second round of the preliminary round of games of the CAF Champions League.

Samartex were held to a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ahead of the clash this weekend, Mamah admits that they are the underdog but expressed optimism about their chances of playing the Moroccan giants, adding that they are not under pressure.

“We’re feeling very optimistic about the upcoming second leg of the fixture, despite still being considered the underdog,” he told the club website.

“There’s absolutely no pressure on us, which allows us to play with a sense of freedom and confidence.

“Our main objective is to build on the strong performance we showcased last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium,” he added.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 19:00GMT on Saturday, September 21.

The Timber Giants have left the shores of Ghana for Morocco on Thursday morning. They are aiming to play in the group phase of the CAF elite competition in the maiden participation under Nurudeen Amadu.
