Berekum Chelsea head coach Samuel Boadu has expressed his disappointment following his side’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko in the semi-final of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup at the T&A Stadium in Tarkwa on Sunday.

Speaking in his post-match interview, Boadu insisted that his team matched Kotoko in every department and were unfortunate not to find the back of the net.

Asante Kotoko didn’t do anything better than us. They only took their chance and we failed to score, Samuel Boadu said.

The highly competitive semi-final saw both sides create limited chances, with the game seemingly heading for extra time until Albert Amoah broke the deadlock in the 80th minute to send Kotoko into the final.

Boadu admitted his disappointment with the result but praised his players for their performance against the Premier League giants.

Berekum Chelsea’s exit means Kotoko will now face Golden Kick FC, the surprise package of the tournament in the FA Cup final. Golden Kick booked their spot with a commanding 3-1 win over Attram De Visser in the other semi-final.
