Ghanaian international and Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, is gearing up for the upcoming Thomas Partey Tournament, an exciting four-day football event aimed at providing young players with the opportunity to showcase their skills and catch the eye of scouts from around the world.
The tournament is set to kick off on Tuesday at the Tuba Astro Turf in Accra.
In an exclusive interview with 3Sports, Partey shared his motivation behind supporting the event, emphasizing the importance of creating platforms for Ghanaian youth to excel in football.
There are a lot of scouts coming from outside, they’ll see them. The main idea is to give the opportunity to the Ghanaian kids to be able to get to where we want them to be,” Partey said.
The Thomas Partey Tournament is designed to be completely free for participants, ensuring that financial barriers won’t limit access for talented young athletes.
Growing up, some of my mates had a lot of talent but no opportunity, and I think with this tournament, everything is free for the kids to come and play.
The tournament will bring together youth teams from across the region, offering them the chance to compete, improve their skills, and potentially secure professional opportunities through exposure to scouts and football clubs.
With his deep connection to Ghanaian football, Partey’s support for the tournament is a testament to his commitment to youth development and ensuring that the next generation of players has the resources and opportunities to succeed on the global stage.
