We Respect Them, But We Are Not Afraid – Suleiman

Tanzania head coach Suleiman has declared his side ready to go toe-to-toe with Morocco in Friday’s CHAN 2024 quarter-final clash, insisting his players have both the confidence and determination to pull off an upset.

After navigating a demanding group stage, Suleiman said the Taifa Stars had grown in belief and were fully prepared for the knockout challenge ahead.

“We’ve finished the group stage. We know how to play now. After four matches, we have no problems. Scoring five goals in the group stage is not easy. Everyone is ready for the quarter-final match against Morocco,” he said.

Suleiman’s words carried a balance of pragmatism and ambition: respect for Morocco’s status as one of the continent’s strongest CHAN teams, yet firm belief that Tanzania could rise to the occasion.

“Our players are physically and mentally prepared to face any team. The match against Morocco will be difficult. We respect them, but we are not afraid. We want to surprise them,” he added.

Tanzania’s Growing Momentum

The Taifa Stars enter the quarter-finals buoyed by a solid group stage performance, during which they scored five goals and demonstrated a growing attacking rhythm.

Suleiman believes this momentum could be the foundation for success against Morocco, a side widely regarded as tournament favorites.

The clash in Dar es Salaam promises to be one of the standout ties of the last eight.

Morocco’s pedigree and experience will test Tanzania to the limit, but Suleiman’s insistence on belief and readiness suggests the Taifa Stars are determined not to be overawed.

For Tanzania, the quarter-final is more than just a football match; it is an opportunity to stake their claim on the continental stage.

With home support behind them and a coach determined to defy the odds, Friday’s showdown has all the ingredients of a classic CHAN encounter.
