Kamaradini Mamudu’s goal secured Medeama SC a vital 1-0 away victory over Legon Cities at the University of Ghana Stadium on Ghana Premier League match-day 2.
The Mauves and Yellows maintain their perfect start to the season, having won their first home game against Accra Lions.
The match was initially balanced, with the home team showing dominance. However, Mamudu broke the deadlock by tapping in a rebound from Fatawu Sulemana’s free-kick after Legon Cities goalkeeper, Kwame Aziz, failed to clear Emmanuel Cudjoe’s header.
In the second half, Legon Cities came out strong, creating several attacking opportunities but failing to convert any. Medeama’s defense held firm, preserving their lead and concluding the match 1-0.
Medeama’s head coach, Nebojsa Kapor, praised his team’s performance, emphasizing the importance of focusing on each game.
“I’m very happy with this win; it’s crucial for us. We set our goal for the season early on. We’re not thinking about May or June yet; the next match is the most important,” he said.
Legon Cities will visit Vision FC next, while Medeama SC will host champions FC Samartex in the upcoming matches.
