Black Satellites head coach Desmond Offei has confessed the game against Niger was a very tough one but their second half was good and feels his lads deserved to run out with all three points after full time.

The Ghana male national U20 side inflicted a 2-0 victory over Niger at the Stade Municipal in Lome, Togo, to keep their hopes of securing a qualification to the semis of the 2024 WAFU Zone B U20 Championship alive.

The first department produced no goal but two goals in the second half from Dreams FC youngster Musibau Aziz was enough to hand the Satellites the precious win.

Speaking after the game, the enterprising tactician gave credit to their opponents for giving them a good run for their money but added it was a deserved victory for his side.

“It was a difficult first half. Niger did really well with their low-block in the back four plus two holding midfielders so we didn’t have enough space and was a bit difficult.

“But in the second half we changed a bit of shape and we found space so I think it’s well deserved.”

Ghana are now leading Group A with four points and need just a point in the final group game against hosts Togo on Wednesday, October 23, to advance to the semis.

The Black Satellites are hoping to secure one of the qualification slots for the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
