The Ghana Football Association has announced that Jordan Ayew, Gideon Mensah, Alidu Seidu, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku will miss the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Niger due to injuries.
Alidu Seidu and Gideon Mensah, who underwent late fitness tests before the Angola match, were declared unfit for selection following additional post-game medical evaluations. Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku picked up injuries during the Angola match, with Ayew completing the game despite his injury. Subsequent MRI scans in Accra revealed significant knee issues for him. Issahaku, on the other hand, was substituted in the first half due to his injury.
After consultations between Black Stars’ medical head Dr. Prince Pambo and Leicester City’s medical team, it was decided that Ayew and Issahaku would return to their club on Sunday to start rehabilitation.
