Johan Cruyff Trophy: Five Coaches Nominated for Best Coach of the Year
France Football has officially unveiled the five-man shortlist for the 2025 Johan Cruyff Trophy, awarded to the best coach of the year, following a season of remarkable achievements across Europe.
Leading the nominees is Hansi Flick, who enjoyed a dream debut season with Barcelona, guiding the club to a domestic treble – La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup.
Luis Enrique of Paris Saint-Germain also stands out after delivering a historic quadruple, winning the domestic treble and the UEFA Champions League title. PSG reached the FIFA Club World Cup final, losing to Chelsea.
Napoli’s Antonio Cote earned his spot after reclaiming the Serie A title in a hard-fought campaign, while Liverpool’s Arne Slot is recognized for dethroning Manchester City to win the Premier League.
Rounding off the list is Enzo Maresca, who led Chelsea to both the UEFA Conference League title and the FIFA Club World Cup triumph in the USA.
Voting is now open, with the winner set to be crowned at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in France this October.
