GFA President Announces Astronomical Increase in GPL Prize Money
Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has announced a massive boost to the Ghana Premier League prize money, with the 2025/26 champions set to receive GHS 2 million.
The new figure represents a 300% increase from last season’s prize, marking the highest payout in the competition’s history.
Okraku revealed the increment during the GFA’s 31st Ordinary Congress, describing it as a strategic step to make the league more competitive and rewarding for clubs.

This significant increase is a demonstration of our commitment to improving the value of our domestic league and motivating our clubs to aim higher,” he stated.
