Black Princesses beat Tunisia to advance to the next stage of U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers

Ghana’s female U-20 national team, the Black Princesses, continued their impressive run in the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup African qualifiers with a convincing 2-0 victory over Tunisia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Princesses, who came into the return fixture with a 2-0 advantage from the first leg in Tunisia, sealed their qualification to the next round of the qualifiers with another dominant performance, finishing the tie 4-0 on aggregate.

Mercy Attobrah opened the scoring in the 37th minute, capping off a spell of Ghanaian pressure with a fine strike. Just moments after the restart, Agnes Yeboah doubled the lead in the 46th minute, putting the result beyond doubt and showcasing the team’s attacking intent.

Head coach Charles Sampson’s side looked composed throughout the game, controlling possession and limiting Tunisia to very few opportunities. The Princesses’ blend of flair, discipline, and resilience ensured they marched confidently into the next stage of the qualifiers.

With this result, Ghana edges closer to booking a place at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, set to be hosted in Poland next year across four cities.

The Black Princesses will be looking to make their seventh straight appearance at the global showpiece and eight overall, continuing a proud tradition of representing Africa on the world stage.
