Ghana beat Senegal by 3-1 at the Cape Coast Stadium to progress to the final of the women’s football event at the 13th African Games, Accra 2023.
This results means that the Black Princesses will renew the rivalry between Ghana their counterparts from Nigeria in the final.
Goals from Tracey Twum and Ophelia Amponsah (2x) were enough to triumph over Senegal in the semifinal.
A consolation goal from Rokyatou Kande from the spot proved little as it wasn’t sufficient for the Senegalese to progress into the final.
Meanwhile, in the other semifinal game, Nigeria triumphed 2-0 over Uganda to book a place in Thursday’s final.
These results means that Ghana and Nigeria will lock horns in the final on Thursday, 21st March, at the Cape Coast Stadium.
While Senegal and Uganda will battle it out in the 3rd place game for the chance to secure the bronze medal.
