Semenyo’s Late Strike Rescues Point for Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth fought back from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest in a thrilling Premier League opener at the City Ground.

The hosts took the lead in the 23rd minute when Chris Wood pounced on a rebound to slot home.

The goal came shortly after a terrifying moment for Forest, as midfielder Danilo was stretchered off after a collision with Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo.

Bournemouth responded well to the setback and created several opportunities, with Dango Ouattara having a goal ruled out for offside before the break.

The Cherries continued to press in the second half, and their persistence paid off in the 86th minute. Semenyo, who had been a constant threat, found the net with a clinical finish to rescue a point for his side.

The two sides share the points and hope for wins in their respective Matchday 2 fixtures against Southampton and Newcastle United respectively.
