Dreams FC Adopts University of Ghana Stadium as Temporary Home

Dreams FC has announced that they will temporarily relocate to the University of Ghana (UG) Stadium in Legon following the unexpected closure of the Accra Sports Stadium for maintenance. The club, along with other affected teams, was forced to find an alternative venue for their upcoming fixtures.

Initially, Dreams FC considered moving to the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in New Town, but after deliberation, the club decided to stay in Accra. According to sources from GHANASoccernet, the University of Ghana Stadium emerged as the most feasible option, ensuring that the team remains within the capital for their home games.

The closure of Accra Sports Stadium caught Dreams FC by surprise, as they were preparing for their next Ghana Premier League fixture against Kpando Heart of Lions. With the Tuba artificial pitch — their designated backup venue — still under construction, Dreams FC had to swiftly secure the UG Stadium as their temporary home.

This move adds to the growing number of clubs that will use the University of Ghana Stadium during the ongoing stadium maintenance. Hearts of Oak, Legon Cities, and Accra Lions are also expected to share the venue for their home matches, creating a bustling atmosphere at the university’s sports facility.

Dreams FC will now host Heart of Lions at the UG Stadium, and the club’s management has expressed confidence in the arrangement, ensuring their fans that the team will continue to perform at the highest level despite the venue change.

The University of Ghana Stadium, with its modern facilities, has been a reliable option for clubs needing temporary venues, and it is expected to handle the influx of Ghana Premier League matches in the coming weeks. Maintenance work at the Accra Sports Stadium is anticipated to take several months, making the UG Stadium the hub of football action for multiple top-flight clubs.

As Dreams FC prepares to adapt to their new surroundings, the club remains focused on their campaign and determined to continue their strong start to the season.
