Kotoko Gaffer, Prosper Ogum Exudes Confidence Ahead of Super Clash

Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum is full of optimism as his team gears up for the highly anticipated Super Clash against archrivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday, December 15, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The clash, marking the first meeting between the two titans in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, comes at a critical time for Kotoko. The Porcupine Warriors approach the encounter with renewed vigor following a morale-boosting 2-0 victory over Aduana Stars on matchday 12.

Reflecting on the importance of that result, Ogum expressed how it has positively transformed the team’s mindset.

“This win against Aduana Stars has brought some self-belief into the players. They now believe that they can do it. They now believe it is doable. It is something that can be done, so going into our next game [against Hearts of Oak], we are going with a lot of confidence,” Ogum said.

The coach also highlighted the impact of the win on the players’ morale during training, noting an uplift in energy and enthusiasm.

“There will be a lot of smiles at training, a lot of joy, and people will be ready to work harder. The key thing for our next game is that players will be more confident and believe in themselves that everything is doable, and we can do it,” he added.

The Super Clash, often regarded as the pinnacle of Ghanaian football, promises to be a thrilling contest as both sides look to assert their dominance.

With Kotoko aiming to carry their momentum into the derby, fans can expect an electrifying encounter under the lights at Baba Yara.
