Black Stars assistant coach John Paintsil has called on Ghanaians to rally behind the national team as they gear up for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

Ghana will take on Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, 2025, before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar on March 24.

The Black Stars currently share the top spot in Group I with Comoros, both teams having amassed nine points from four matches. Their campaign began with a victory over Madagascar, followed by a setback against Comoros, but they regained momentum with successive wins over Mali and the Central African Republic.

Speaking to Happy Sports, Paintsil highlighted the significance of strong home support in their upcoming fixture against Chad.

At this stage, we need the support of Ghanaians now more than ever, especially in our home game against Chad. They should come to the Accra Sports Stadium and cheer us on. He urged.

Chad sits at the bottom of the group with just one point, while Madagascar holds third place with seven points.

Due to the unapproved status of Madagascar’s home stadium, Ghana’s away fixture will be played in Al Hoceima, Morocco.

Determined to strengthen their qualification chances, the Black Stars are focused on securing all six points from these crucial encounters.
