Black Stars assistant coach John Paintsil has underlined the crucial nature of Ghana’s upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad, describing it as a must-win encounter.

Ghana will host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 19:00 GMT, before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar on March 24.

Currently, the Black Stars share the top spot in Group I with Comoros, both teams securing nine points from four matches. Ghana’s campaign started with a victory over Madagascar, followed by a loss to Comoros. However, they bounced back with consecutive wins against Mali and the Central African Republic.

Speaking to Happy Sports, Paintsil emphasized the importance of securing maximum points in the upcoming fixture.

The Chad game is a must-win, and with the support of the fans, I believe we will achieve our goal. We all understand what World Cup qualification means it brings opportunities, opens doors, and attracts investment. He stated.

Chad currently sits at the bottom of Group I with just one point, while Madagascar occupies third place with seven points.

Due to the unapproved status of Madagascar’s national stadium, Ghana’s away match will take place in Al Hoceima, Morocco.

The Black Stars are fully focused on securing six points from these two crucial encounters to bolster their qualification hopes.
