Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has expressed his joy after guiding the Porcupine Warriors to a 2025 President’s Cup triumph over rivals Hearts of Oak.
Speaking in his post-match interview on Sunday, July 6, Zito revealed that the team was determined to win the trophy to make up for their disappointment in the Ghana Premier League.
The plan was to come and win. I wanted us to go for the second cup. We couldn’t win the Ghana Premier League, so I wanted us to pacify the fans with this second cup, and I’m happy that we won. We are all happy, and I’m happy that my supporters are also happy, he said.
The victory marks Kotoko’s ninth President’s Cup title and Zito’s second trophy since taking over as interim coach.
