In the midst of growing speculation surrounding the future of Ghanaian midfielder Andre Ayew in the national team setup, Mohammed Ameenu Shardow, Team Manager of the Black Stars and General Manager of Dreams FC, has offered some clarity and optimism.
In an exclusive interview with The BAC Sports Channel, Shardow stated:
I don’t think it’s the end for Andre Ayew in the Black Stars. I expect to see him soon.
This revelation comes as a reassuring update for many fans of the Ghana national team who have been curious about the absence of the seasoned midfielder. Ayew, who has been a talismanic figure for the Black Stars for over a decade, has faced questions about his future.
Ayew, who made his debut for the national team in 2007, has since amassed over 110 caps and served as captain during several international tournaments, including the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. While Ayew may not currently be part of the active squad, his impact and influence remain significant.
However, his younger brother, Jordan Ayew, has been handed the captain’s armband in his absence. Jordan, also a long-serving member of the national team, has stepped into the leadership role with confidence, continuing the Ayew family legacy within the Black Stars.
