Vision FC Technical Director Annor Walker has clarified his pre-match comments suggesting his side would defeat Hearts of Oak within 25 minutes, stating they were intended purely for promotional purposes and not to disrespect the Accra-based giants.

The comments, made in the build-up to the much-anticipated clash between the two sides, sparked debate among fans and pundits. However, following the 1-1 draw at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Park, Walker addressed the issue in an interview with Asempa FM.

Hearts is a big club, I have a lot of respect for them, the former Great Olympics coach said. My pre-match comments were for promotional purposes, not meant to disrespect them.

Walker’s remarks come as part of a broader conversation on how to better market Ghana Premier League fixtures. He had earlier praised the promotional efforts leading up to the match, which attracted a large crowd and delivered an exciting contest.

Kelvin Osei Asibey opened the scoring for Hearts of Oak before Adjetey Sowah equalized for Vision FC, with both sides settling for a point in what was widely regarded as an entertaining encounter.
