Asante Kotoko have reclaimed the top spot in the Ghana Premier League after securing a crucial 1-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on matchday 21.
The Porcupine Warriors, who were second on the table before the match, overtook Bibiani Gold Stars with this hard-fought win. A decisive 73rd-minute goal from Daniel Adjetey sealed all three points for Kotoko, propelling them to 45 points, one ahead of Gold Stars, who now drop to second with 44 points.
Despite a spirited effort from Berekum Chelsea, they were unable to find an equalizer, leaving them in ninth place with 32 points.
With just 10 games remaining in the season, Kotoko’s victory places them in pole position to push for the league title. However, with Bibiani Gold Stars, Heart of Lions, and Medeama close behind, the title race remains wide open.
