Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has thrown his full support behind Asante Kotoko ahead of their highly anticipated clash against rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in the 2025 President’s Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors will travel to Accra this weekend for the showdown, set to take place on Sunday, July 6, at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 PM.
During a visit to the team’s training grounds on Monday, June 30, Dr. Amoakohene took time to motivate the players, urging them to give their all in the upcoming encounter.
We will assist with supporter mobilisation for the 2025 President’s Cup and provide whatever help is necessary for you to make Asanteman proud, he said.
Addressing the squad, which includes new additions to the team, the Minister emphasized the importance of unity and teamwork.
It’s all about working together. I’m happy to see new faces blending in with the squad. God willing, on Sunday, we will celebrate a great victory for Kotoko and for the people of Ashanti, he added.
The President’s Cup, an annual fixture held in honour of Ghana’s sitting president, remains one of the most prestigious fixtures on the local football calendar, especially when contested by Ghana’s most storied rivals.
