Atalanta BC has confirmed the acquisition of Black Stars midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana for the 2024/25 season.

The 21-year-old returns to the Bergamo club from Cagliari on an undisclosed length of contract, for a four and half years deal.

Both clubs finalized the transfer of the promising midfielder on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Sulemana shone in his debut season with Cagliari, having transferred from Hellas Verona after their promotion to Serie A.

He played 21 Serie A matches for Cagliari, scoring two goals in the 2023/24 season under Claudio Ranieri, where he was ranked third in ball recoveries per 90 minutes last season.

His performances earned him a debut call-up to the Black Stars for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic in June.

The midfielder returns to the club where he started in Italy five years ago, when he was a part of Atalanta’s U17 side.

Sulemana made his Ghana debut off the bench in the 1-2 win over Mali and was an unused substitute in the victory over Central African Republic at Baba Yara Stadium.
