The Black Maidens have advanced to the final of the 2024 WAFU Zone B U17 Girls Cup after a dominant 5-0 win over Ivory Coast in the semi-finals on Thursday in Prampram.
Star striker Christina Ashiaku opened the scoring in the 14th minute and went on to complete a first-half hat-trick, giving Ghana a commanding 3-0 lead at halftime and leaving Ivory Coast with slim chances of recovery.
In the second half, Ghana maintained their dominance, adding two more goals through Zipporah Ayantoya and Seidatu Wahab to seal the emphatic victory.
The Black Maidens will now compete in the final, where they await the winner of the second semi-final between Nigeria and Benin, set to kick off at 7 p.m. tonight.
