Black Stars Arrive in Luanda for Crucial AFCON 2025 Qualifier Against Angola
The Black Stars have arrived in Luanda ahead of their pivotal 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Angola, set for Friday.
Ghana’s national team completed three intensive training sessions in Accra before departing for Angola, determined to put up a strong performance and keep their slim qualification hopes alive.
Upon arrival, the Stars set their sights on one final preparatory session, scheduled for Thursday evening at the Estadio 11 de Novembro.
This session will take place at 8 p.m. local time and will serve as Ghana’s final opportunity to refine tactics and make any last-minute adjustments before the crucial clash.
Ghana currently sits third in Group F, having collected just two points from four games, and faces a challenging path to qualification.
For the Black Stars, the game against Angola is a must-win to stay in the running for a place in the tournament in Morocco. Even with a victory, however, their destiny does not rest solely in their hands.
Sudan, who is second in the group with seven points, needs only one more point from their remaining two matches to officially secure a ticket to the 2025 AFCON.
The Black Stars are hopeful that Niger can pull off an upset and defeat Sudan, as even a single point for Sudan in either of their final two matches would render Ghana’s game against Angola irrelevant to their qualification chances.
Angola, who has already qualified for the tournament with an unblemished record in Group F, will be playing without pressure but with pride, aiming to maintain their perfect streak.
For Ghana, Friday’s fixture is about more than just securing points; it’s about reviving the nation’s hope of making it to Morocco and reasserting their place in African football.
The team will need to display resilience, skill, and determination to overcome the Angolan side and hope for favourable outcomes in the other group fixtures.
