Bofoakwa Tano caused a major upset in the MTN FA Cup on Sunday, edging out Dreams FC 2-1 after extra time to book their place in the final against Nsoatreman.

The Bono-based side displayed remarkable grit and determination to overcome the challenge from Dreams FC, who were aiming to defend their FA Cup title.

Bofoakwa took the lead two minutes after halftime through Aboagye Dacosta, sending the fans at the WAFA Park in Sogakope into a frenzy.

However, Dreams FC refused to be outdone and pulled level from the penalty spot in the 60th minute, courtesy of a well-taken penalty by Emmanuel Agyei.

Neither side could find the winner in regulation time, forcing the match into extra time.

Bofoakwa stepped up their intensity in the additional period and grabbed the decisive goal in the 93rd minute.

Elijah Adai’s strike sent Bofoakwa into raptures and confirmed their place in the MTN FA Cup final for the first time in their history.

This victory marks a significant achievement for Bofoakwa Tano, who will now face Nsoatreman in a historic first-ever FA Cup final for both clubs.

The match promises to be a thrilling encounter, with both teams aiming to rewrite their history books by lifting the coveted trophy on June 22 at the University of Ghana Stadium.
