Borussia Dortmund has secured a spot in this year’s UEFA Champions League final after beating Paris Saint Germain in a two-legged semi-final affair.
The German side booked their place in final after a hard-fought 2-0 aggregate victory over the Parisians.
First a 1 nil win at home at the Signal Iduna Park in Germany, and another one nil victory in the second leg at the Parc des Princes in France, were enough to send the die Schwarzgelben to their first UCL final in 14 years which coincidentally was played at Wembley, same host for this year.
The all-important goal in the second leg was scored by Mats Hummels in the 50th minute when he rose the highest to head home from a corner kick.
This is Borussia Dortmund’s third appearance in a Champions League final.
They were winners in 1997 and runners-up in 2013 when they face country rivals, Bayern Munich.
They will be hoping to win their second Champions League trophy this year when they come up against the winners of the other semifinal tie between 14-time champions, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich who have won it 6 times.
