The former Asante Kotoko and Bibiani Goldstars tactician has been confirmed dead in London.
Ex-Ghana international Michael Osei has passed on at age 53 after battling short illness in the United Kingdom.
Osei, who last coached Ghana Premier League side Bibiani Goldstars, has been out of the country since last year.
He was confirmed dead by his family after passing on in the early hours Friday, November 15, 2024 in the United Kingdom.
Osei was regarded as one of the best midfielders to emerge from Ghana and rose through the ranks of Okwahu United before joining Asante Kotoko and later moved to German Bundesliga campaigners Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainz 05.
He worked as coach for several Ghanaian clubs including New Edubiase United, Asante Kotoko, Liberty Professionals and Bibiani Goldstars.
Osei also served as the Ghana U23 assistant for five years before the technical team of the Black Meteors was dissolved in 2023.
