Ghana will play in the next FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, following the Black Princess 5-1 victory over Senegal, in the final qualifying round at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, on Sunday, January 21.

This decisive win, secured their 7th consecutive FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup appearance, marking a historic milestone for the Black Princesses, extending their impressive record of qualifying for every U-20 World Cup since 2010.

Despite a 2-0 first-leg loss at home, Senegal opened the score sheet just four minutes into the game.

Maafia Nyame equalized for the Princess in the 18th minute and Berline Nyarkoh scored a spectacular goal in the 23rd minute.

Tracy Twum added a penalty in the 67th minute, and Nyarkoh netted her second goal from inside the box in the 72nd minute, to give Ghana a 4-1 lead.

Salamatu Abdulai forcefully outplayed a defender in the penalty area, slotting home the fifth goal in the 78th minute, sealing a 7-1 aggregate victory over Senegal.

Ghana is set to join Nigeria, Morocco, and Cameroon as Africa’s representatives in the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Colombia from August 21 to September 22, 2024.
