The General Manager of Ghana Premier League side, Dreams FC and the Team Manager of Black Stars, Mohammed Ameenu Shardow, has stressed the urgent need for behavioral change among key stakeholders in Ghana football industry.

Speaking with The BAC Sports Channel about the deeper challenges that continue to hinder the growth of Ghana football, Shardow lamented the resistance to innovation and modern approaches within the football community.

Football people are stuck in their old ways,” he said. “If we don’t change to new ways, it will be impossible for us to enjoy or catch up. He said.

Shardow pointed out that while global football has embraced new technologies, advanced management systems, modern marketing strategies, and scientific player development, Ghana’s football culture remains largely attached to outdated practices. This, he believes, creates a growing gap between Ghana and the leading football nations.

The persistent reluctance to change, according to Shardow, affects everything from player performance to fan engagement, sponsorship opportunities, and overall competitiveness.

Football today is a fast-moving industry,  he explained. If we continue holding on to the old ways, we won’t just lose relevance, we’ll lose the future of Ghana football itself.
