GFA Assembles Power-Packed Technical Team for Black Galaxies

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has unveiled a formidable technical and backroom setup for the Black Galaxies, signalling a renewed drive to return Ghana to the top of African football at the CHAN tournament.

At the heart of this restructuring is the appointment of Kassim Ocansey Mingle, the Nations FC coach whose tactical acumen nearly delivered the Premier League title last season. While Mingle will take the lead, the strength of the project lies in the collective expertise surrounding him.

Joining him are two accomplished assistants, Samuel Boadu, the coach who masterminded Hearts of Oak’s league and FA Cup double in 2021, and Godwin Attram, the former Black Satellites skipper shaping talent at Attram Di Visser. Ex-Black Stars goalkeeper Stephen Ahorlu brings his experience between the sticks as Goalkeepers Coach.

The GFA has also fortified the welfare and support system. Former Black Stars team manager Henry Martey will oversee player welfare, while Justice Kofi Mensah and Francis Ofori ensure the team’s logistics run smoothly.

Crucially, the medical unit has been entrusted to some of the most respected professionals in Ghana’s sports medicine field, led by Dr. Abena Yeboaa Tannor, a trailblazer in Sports and Rehabilitation Medicine and chair of the GFA Medical Committee.

By pairing tactical minds with a strong medical and welfare backbone, the GFA is demonstrating that success at CHAN will demand more than just talent—it requires holistic preparation.

This reshuffle comes as Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, who had previously been involved with the Galaxies, steps aside to focus fully on his new position as head coach of Hearts of Oak.
