GFA Medical Committee Kicks Off Season with Health Webinar
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has opened the new football season with a strong focus on player welfare, hosting a pre-season medical webinar on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
Medical staff from clubs in the Premier League, Women’s Premier League and Division One League joined sports medicine specialists, nutritionists and psychologists to discuss ways of keeping players fit and mentally strong.
Topics ranged from managing injuries like ACL tears and ankle sprains to proper hydration, safe supplement use and handling stress and burnout.
Experts led by Dr. Abena Tannor, Dr. Eric Tetteh Ayertey, Mrs. Renee Opare Otoo, Dr. Ernest Anim-Opare and Dr. Philip Omoregie shared practical advice with club medics.
The GFA says the webinar is the first of many steps to improve medical standards in Ghanaian football and ensure players compete in a safe and supportive environment this season.
