Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt E.S. Okraku has outlined a bold new vision to rebrand Ghana Premier League matches as premium, high-value content under a fresh strategic push to fuel long-term growth and sustainability in local football.
Unveiling a landmark partnership with Adesa Production Limited ahead of the 2025/26 season, Okraku stressed that the GFA is set on transforming the league into a commercially viable product.
“Our matches will no longer be seen as ordinary games,” Okraku stated. “They will be treated as premium assets—marketable, monetizable, and broadcast-ready—to ensure the financial health and progress of our clubs.”
The initiative comes as part of the GFA’s wider strategy to professionalize league operations, boost the value of media rights, and enhance club revenues. As part of the deal, each Premier League club will receive GH₵1 million before the new season kicks off, with additional rewards tied to on-field performance.
Okraku, who also holds the role of CAF Vice President, noted that the effort aligns with continental goals to strengthen local leagues and reduce overdependence on external financial support.
The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season officially begins on the weekend of September 12.
