The Ghana Badminton Association (GBA) has successfully concluded its national training initiative aimed at empowering 600 school teachers and community leaders with the skills and knowledge to promote badminton across the country.

The event, which forms part of the 2025 Shuttle Time Coaching Course, brought together participants from all regions of Ghana. The program focused on increasing awareness and participation in badminton at the grassroots level, particularly within schools and local communities.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, President of the Ghana Badminton Association, Mr. Evans Yeboah, emphasized the significance of the initiative in the broader framework of the association’s strategic vision.

We have met here to deliver a national program that is crucial to our goals as the national governing body for badminton, he stated. This Shuttle Time initiative is not just about coaching; it’s about driving awareness, participation, and the love for badminton from the ground up. This aligns perfectly with the objectives in our strategic plan.

Participants received hands-on training and educational resources to help them effectively introduce the sport in their respective institutions and communities.

The program is expected to create a ripple effect that will enhance youth engagement, talent discovery, and long-term development of badminton in Ghana.
