Ghana Climbs One Place in Latest FIFA World Rankings

Ghana’s Black Stars have recorded a slight rise in the latest FIFA World Rankings, moving up one place to 75th following their recent performances in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The team, led by head coach Otto Addo, had previously been stuck in 76th position for consecutive updates but gained ground thanks to their September 2025 international window results.

Ghana played out a draw with Chad before securing a crucial victory over Mali’s Eagles at the Accra Sports Stadium, a result that helped them maintain top spot in Group I of the qualifiers.

While the Black Stars’ global standing has slightly improved, their continental ranking remains unchanged. Ghana sit 14th in Africa, with the likes of Morocco, Senegal, and Nigeria still occupying the top positions on the continent.

Ghana, however, remains optimistic about further progress in the months ahead. The Black Stars are set to return to action in October for their final two group matches against the Central African Republic and Comoros on matchdays nine and ten.

Victories in those fixtures would not only keep Ghana’s qualification hopes for the 2026 World Cup in USA, Canada, and Mexico firmly on track but could also push them higher up the FIFA ladder.

For Addo and his players, the latest rankings boost serves as added motivation to finish the qualifiers strongly and continue climbing the global football order.
