The path to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco has been revealed for Ghana, with the Black Stars handed a seemingly favorable draw in Group F.

Following their placement in Pot 1 due to their FIFA ranking, Ghana will face Angola, Sudan, and Niger in their group stage qualifiers.

This appears to be a manageable group for the Black Stars, who are aiming for their eleventh consecutive AFCON appearance, having missed out in 2004, hosted by Tunisia.

Ghana’s toughest opponent on paper is likely to be Angola, who reached the quarter-finals at the most recent AFCON held in Cote d’Ivoire.

Sudan and Niger will be looking to upset the Black Stars, having been absent from the continental tournament for the past few editions.

Sudan is boosted by being coached by former Ghana international and coach, James Kwasi Appiah, who became the first local coach to qualify Ghana to the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.

The qualification campaign kicks off in September 2024 and concludes in November 2024 with the he top two teams from each group securing their place at the AFCON finals, which will be held in Morocco.

The tournament proper will run from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

The Black Stars will be aiming to start their qualification campaign on a strong note and secure an early lead in the group.
