Ghana’s defensive midfielder, Ahmed Awua Ankrah has secured a three-year contract with Latvia’s top-tier club, FC Riga, moving from Slovenia’s FC Koper, where he had an impressive stint.

The 22-year-old joined FC Koper last season on a two-year deal after departing Italy’s Parma Calcio. During his one-year spell at FC Koper, Ankrah played 27 games, scored 1 goal, and provided 1 assist.

Commenting on his move to FC Riga, Ahmed Awua Ankrah expressed his enthusiasm for the new chapter in his career. “I’m incredibly happy to join such an amazing club. I hope to do my best to help FC Riga achieve great success,” he said.

Ankrah’s arrival at FC Riga is seen as a significant boost for the club’s midfield strength. His defensive skills and ability to contribute to both attack and defense will undoubtedly be valuable assets for the team as they aim for top-tier success in the Virsliga.
