Ghanaian defender Abdul Mumin has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury during Rayo Vallecano’s match against Sevilla over the weekend.

Mumin has been a key figure for Rayo this season, starting 24 of their 26 La Liga matches. His defensive performances have been outstanding, as he currently ranks first for blocks in the league.

The injury is also a major setback for Ghana, as the 25-year-old will be unavailable for the Black Stars’ upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

Mumin will now focus on recovery, hoping to return stronger next season.
