Hearts of Oak Moving in the Right Direction Under Didi Dramani – Opare Addo
Communications Director of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo, says he is encouraged by the progress of the team under new head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as preparations intensify for the 2025 football season.
Opare Addo’s remarks came after the Phobians secured a 2-0 victory over Heart of Lions in the 2025 Homowo Cup clash at the Accra Sports Stadium. Goals from Hamza Issah and Frank Doku sealed the win for the former Ghana Premier League champions.
The result was a welcome boost for Dramani, who had opened his reign with a narrow loss to archrivals Asante Kotoko in the President’s Cup. For Opare Addo, however, Sunday’s display was proof that the team is gradually adapting to their coach’s methods.
“What we saw against Heart of Lions shows that the team is progressing. We may not get it perfect in every match, but there is clear improvement,” he said in an interview with Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.
He praised the former Black Stars assistant coach for quickly introducing his playing philosophy and urged Phobians to rally behind the project.
“Coach Dramani is instilling his culture and philosophy in the squad, and the signs are encouraging. This is the stage where the players need the full support of our fans to keep pushing forward,” Opare Addo added.
Dramani, who took over from Aboubakar Ouattara at the end of last season, is tasked with reviving Hearts’ fortunes. Ouattara now serves as a special advisor to the board.
The Phobians will renew hostilities with Heart of Lions on Wednesday when the two sides clash again in the opening fixture of the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 tournament at the Accra Sports Stadium.
