Hearts of Oak’s struggles in the Ghana Premier League continued as they managed only a late equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Bibiani Gold Stars at the Bibiani Dun’s Park on Sunday, March 23.
The Phobians, who have now failed to win in their last three games, went behind in the 79th minute after Gold Stars’ Anaba G. converted a penalty. Hearts of Oak looked set for another painful defeat, but a stoppage-time goal from substitute Appiah Asare salvaged a point for the visitors.
Despite the late heroics, Hearts of Oak’s recent form remains concerning, having suffered two consecutive losses before this draw. The club, which had been pushing for a higher spot on the league table, now finds itself in 4th place with 38 points from 24 matches.
Meanwhile, Bibiani Gold Stars remain in 2nd place with 42 points, just one behind league leaders Asante Kotoko.
